There is nothing called Internal Democracy any where in the whole wide world(www). There is no Dictionary that contains such a strange mix of words. In Engineering, there is what is called Internal Combustion. This one is about a definite process in Auto Engineering which can be quantified. But Internal Democracy? No one, I mean not a single person, can trace its origin.
 Determined to impose just any character on the members of the Party, some Political Parties in Nigeria coined “Internal Democracy” to justify this crime and rape on democracy. Using this Political 419(obtaining by false pretences) it has been possible for even distant relatives of people in power to impose any character they so fancy on the people. The low level of development witnessed all over Nigeria in the executive, legislative and judicial sectors are direct effects and results of this bastardisation of a noble political system.
When garbage is fed into any system, what comes out is garbage. If the process that threw up those folks in the Presidency had been allowed to be transparent and equitable, knowledgable folks would have been recruited into the Aso Rock Medical Unit. A situation where a simple ailment like appendicities could not be picked up by Doctors in Aso Rock, would not have arisen. Imagine how the German Doctors would view their Nigerian counterparts?
Unfortunately, this same error of judgement and dismal performance is what we find in the Petroleum Ministry. It is this recruitment of garbage through internal democracy that ensures that mostly thieves and vagabonds populate the green and red chambers of the National Assembly. Those Judges that obtain bribe to pervert justice, had their appointments approved by these tainted institutions and no one should have expected any better performance from this congenitally malformed bench.
Is it not shameful that the Democratic Party in the US would conduct their convention and would ignore another Democratic Party in Nigeria? If this does not mean much to some of these parties down here, it could be because we have been so used to doing the wrong things that we no longer have feelings of remorse.
If we want to practice democray, let us practice democracy. Let us allow people to conduct primaries the way it ought to be conducted. No body should corrupt the process with “Concensus, internal democracy” and other meaningless slogans. This method has only produced the type of situation we are finding ourselves. Nothing is working in this Country and any one who thinks otherwise must be deceiving himself.
